Foxconn Explores Hyderabad Investment, Chairman Meets CM Revanth Reddy

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu has expressed strong interest in investing in Hyderabad, recognizing the city’s growing potential in both industrial and service sectors. During a meeting in New Delhi with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Liu praised the CM’s plans, especially the Fourth City project, which focuses on diverse expansion in areas like education, healthcare, and electronics. Liu highlighted Hyderabad’s ability to expand across various sectors.

The Foxconn delegation, led by Liu, was briefed by the CM on Hyderabad’s rich history, industrial growth, and favorable conditions. Reddy also detailed the phased development of Hyderabad’s three cities over 430 years and introduced the Fourth City project. A key initiative of this project is the establishment of the Young India Skill Development University, where leading industrialists are involved in curriculum design to align with modern industry needs. Anand Mahindra and Srinivasa Raju are leading this effort.

Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s strategic advantages, such as its International Airport and ring roads, and assured Foxconn of full support for setting up factories in the Fourth City. State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu also discussed the state’s pro-industrial policies and international collaborations. Impressed by the CM’s vision, Liu confirmed Foxconn’s interest in exploring investment opportunities, with plans for an initial visit by a team followed by his own visit. The meeting included key officials from both the Telangana government and Foxconn, signaling the start of a potential partnership for Hyderabad’s industrial future.
