What began as a peaceful student protest against the quota system for government jobs in Bangladesh has escalated into widespread violence and political upheaval. The unrest has turned into a full-fledged uprising against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her ruling Awami League party, culminating in her resignation and departure from the country. Amidst the chaos, a video from the protests has gone viral on social media in India, featuring a man who bears a striking resemblance to Indian cricket star Virat Kohli.
Viral Video Sparks Confusion
The clip, which has been shared on X (formerly Twitter), misleadingly claims that the person shown is Kohli himself. However, it is actually a lookalike of the cricketer.

In the video, the doppelganger is seen perched on the shoulders of fellow protestors, chanting slogans. Observers noted that he is wearing a cap with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) logo, adding to the confusion. Since its upload, the video has garnered nearly 140,000 views and around 2,600 likes, with a mix of reactions from viewers. While many correctly identified the individual as a lookalike, others mistakenly believed it was Kohli.
Previous Incidents of Kohli Lookalikes
This isn’t the first time a Virat Kohli lookalike has gained attention. In January of this year, another doppelganger went viral in India. The individual was seen in Ayodhya, being mobbed by fans for selfies while donning an Indian cricket team jersey.
