Pakistan: Shehbaz Sharif Govt To Ban Imran Khan’s Party? What Country’s Information Minister Says?

In a huge development related to Pakistan’s political arena, the country’s information minister Attatullah Tarar has emphasized on his stance to ban Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

As reported by Geo News, the information minister has announced, that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is going ahead with the decision to outlaw Tehreek-e-Insaf party. It will be subject to changes following appropriate legal consultations.

Speaking about the ban Tarar said ‘We have consulted with the Pakistan Peoples Party with regards to the PTI ban and are currently in talks with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan…people are strongly supporting the idea of banning PTI’. Quoting Geo News.

This declaration comes around the time, when Imran Khan has just acknowledged at Adiala Jail, that he has called for demonstration outside central headquarters in case of arrest.

Earlier, Tarar just last week, he also talked about PTI ban, declaring that PTI and Pakistan cannot exist together.

Moreover, he also announced, that they made this decision due to Khan’s involvement on May 9 riots and PTI’s alleged attempts to derail the IMF deal.

Overall, Tarar has declared that they have decided to outlaw the party, but they are awaiting consensus.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Imran Khan slammed establishment’s decision to ban the party emphasizing that this action is akin to ‘Murder of democracy.’

Talking about Party’s ban Khan said ‘Our party was already banned, it was not allowed to contest the elections, and the chairman, vice chairman and president of the party were already in jail, they still say that the party is banned. It will be done.’
