Cowardly attack on Congress Office in Gujarat strengthens my belief about BJP and Sangh that they spread violence and hatred: Rahul

A day after stones were pelted at the Congress office in Gujarat, the Grand Old Party leader and newly appointed Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, condemned the attack, stating that it further strengthens his point about the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. He claimed that they spread violence and hatred and do not understand the basic principles of Hinduism.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, “The cowardly and violent attack on the Gujarat Congress office further strengthens my point about the BJP and the Sangh Parivar.”

Slamming the BJP, he said, “The people of BJP who spread violence and hatred do not understand the basic principles of Hinduism. The people of Gujarat can clearly see through their lies and will teach the BJP government a decisive lesson.”

“I am saying it again – INDIA is going to win in Gujarat,” he added.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks came a day after the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad was reportedly vandalized by Bajrang Dal on Monday night to protest his recent comments about Hindus in Parliament.

Members of the BJP and the Congress Party clashed outside the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad on Tuesday afternoon. The BJP and its affiliated bodies were protesting against the alleged “anti-Hindu” remarks made by Rahul Gandhi.

In his over one and half hour speech, which faced several disruptions, Rahul Gandhi on Monday began his speech in the Lok Sabha by invoking ‘Jai Sanvidhan’ (Hail Constitution) amidst BJP chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’.

He asserted that Hinduism is not about spreading fear, hatred, and falsehoods. Gandhi criticized the BJP for their interpretation of Hindu values.

Rahul Gandhi showed pictures of Lord Shiva, Jesus Christ, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, and others to underline the importance of fearlessness preached by all religions.

Facing opposition from the treasury-bench members over his remarks, Rahul Gandhi slammed the BJP, saying, “Aap Hindu ho hi nahi” (You are not Hindus). It is clearly written in Hinduism that one should stand with the truth and not back down from the truth or be scared of it.

When the Prime Minister intervened, saying that “it is a very serious matter of concern,” Rahul Gandhi hit back, saying that Modiji, BJP, and RSS are not the custodians of Hinduism.
