Nagpur Murder Case: Daughter-In-Law Plans Contract Killing For Rs.300 Cr Property

In a startling turn of events in the Nagpur hit-and-run case, a sinister twist has now taken the turn of a murder, which was planned for acquiring a staggering Rs.300 crore property.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a woman, coveting her in-law’s property, had promised Rs. 1 crore to contract killers, if they murder her father-in-law.

Additionally, the police also disclosed that Archana’s co-accused, Dharmik and Sarthak Bagde, had paid Rs 40,000 and Rs 1.20 lakh, respectively, for a secondhand car, which was used to run over the 82-year-old victim, Purushottam Puttewar.

Dharmik later admitted during remand that he received Rs. 3 lakh and gold from daughter-in-law Archana, to carry out the task.

Later, the police also seized cash and valuables from Dharmik’s house. After that, the crime branch took Archana into custody on June 6 and also asked for her remand from court for three days.

What Is the Case All About?

On May 22, 2024, the 82-year-old Purushottam Puttewar was struck by a fast-moving vehicle at Nagpur’s Balaji Nagari.

Initially, it was considered a simple accident, and a bailable was filed. As a result, the driver with the car was released.

But due top police’s officer suspicion, the investigation started. Later, during the probe, they arrested daughter-in-law Archana and her accomplices Sarthak Bagde and Dharmik.

However, according to TOI report, Archana’s police custody wasn’t extended beyond 3 days. As a result, they did not get the opportunity to interrogate the accused and verify the statements made by Archana’s key righthand man-family driver Sarthak Bagde, who was called to crime branch on Monday.
