‘400 seats are needed to construct …’ Says CM Himanta Biswa

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the BJP, having secured 300 seats, constructed the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and upon achieving 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, temples will be erected at the Krishna Janmabhoomi site in Mathura and at the location of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi. He also affirmed that under PM Modi’s leadership, Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) will be assimilated into India.

During the Congress regime, Sarma noted a lack of parliamentary discussions on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, emphasizing that the territory rightfully belongs to India. He pointed out ongoing protests in PoK, where demonstrators express solidarity with India by displaying the national flag. Sarma predicted that with 400 seats, Modi’s government would take PoK back into India.

Asserting the BJP’s commitment to bolstering reservations, Sarma highlighted PM Modi‘s own OBC background. He accused the Congress of aiming to abolish reservations for SC, ST, and OBC categories while advocating for reservations for Muslims, as seen in Karnataka.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterated India’s claim over PoJK, emphasizing the region’s integral connection to India and contrasting its situation with the progress in Jammu and Kashmir. He referenced recent unrest in PoJK, where Pakistani paramilitary rangers fired upon protestors demanding relief from taxes and an end to governmental privileges.
