Asaduddin Owaisi Criticizes PM Modi’s Statement On Hyderabad

Asaduddin Owaisi responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about Hyderabad, where Modi claimed that Congress and BRS had handed over the city to AIMIM. Owaisi strongly disagreed with this characterization, emphasizing that the people of Hyderabad should not be treated like animals.

He emphasized that the residents of Hyderabad are citizens and should not be considered the property of any political party. Owaisi made these remarks on Wednesday, asserting the rights of Hyderabad’s citizens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement suggested that Hyderabad had been given “on lease” to AIMIM by Congress and BRS. In response, Asaduddin Owaisi, a leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, expressed his disagreement.

He stated that likening the people of Hyderabad to cattle is inappropriate. According to Owaisi, the citizens of Hyderabad are individuals with rights and should not be seen as belonging to any political party. Owaisi made these remarks to underline the importance of recognizing the citizens’ autonomy and dignity.

PM Modi accused Congress and BRS of giving Hyderabad to AIMIM on “lease.” Asaduddin Owaisi responded, saying the people of Hyderabad aren’t owned by political parties. He stated that Hyderabad has rejected Hindutva ideology for 40 years and trusted AIMIM. Owaisi expressed confidence that Hindutva will be defeated again.

Owaisi shifted the focus to electoral funding, criticizing PM Modi. He accused Modi of being indebted to parties that donated Rs 6,000 crore through electoral bonds. According to Owaisi, Modi has sold India’s assets to these sponsors. He pointed out that 21 people now have more wealth than 70 crore Indians, calling them Modi’s real family.

Speaking to ANI, Owaisi claimed that PM Modi is frustrated because AIMIM has been defeating BJP for 40 years.

Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized that AIMIM has been defeating the BJP for 40 years. He questioned the whereabouts of funds for PM CARES and electoral bonds, highlighting issues like unemployment and inflation. Owaisi criticized PM Modi’s alleged intentions to change the constitution to end reservation, dismissing claims about Muslim women removing Hindu symbols.

PM Modi accused Congress and BRS of giving Hyderabad to AIMIM on “lease” during a rally in Telangana’s Karimnagar. He claimed that BJP is the first to challenge AIMIM and accused Congress and BRS of helping AIMIM win in Hyderabad.

Madhavi Latha is set to contest against Asaduddin Owaisi, marking the first time BJP has fielded a female candidate in Hyderabad. Owaisi has served four terms as the Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad since 2004, succeeding his father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, who held the seat from 1984.

The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly segments, mostly held by AIMIM except Goshamahal. Voting for all 17 Telangana seats will take place on May 13 in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. In the 2019 elections, TRS won nine seats, BJP four, Congress three, and AIMIM one.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won four seats out of the 17 in Telangana. The Lok Sabha polls are held in seven phases until June 1, with vote counting on June 4.
