Sunil Narine of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) continued his exceptional run in the Indian Premier League (IPL), achieving a rare milestone of surpassing 1,500 runs and claiming 150 wickets, making him only the third player to do so in the league’s history. Narine reached this feat during KKR’s match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow.

During the game, Narine showcased his batting prowess by scoring 81 runs off just 39 balls, including six fours and seven sixes, at an impressive strike rate of 207.69. Throughout his IPL career, Narine has amassed 1,507 runs at an average of 17.32 and a strike rate of 166.33, featuring one century and seven half-centuries. He holds a personal best score of 109 and stands as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, having taken 176 wickets in 173 matches.

In the current IPL season, Narine has been in sublime form, accumulating 461 runs at an average of 41.90 and a strike rate of 183.66, including a century and three half-centuries, with his highest score being 109.

Joining Narine in achieving this milestone are Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo. Jadeja has scored 2,894 runs at an average of 27.30 and has taken 160 wickets in 237 matches, while Bravo has amassed 1,560 runs and claimed 183 wickets in 161 matches.

In the ongoing IPL, Narine has proven his prowess against spin, scoring 125 runs in just 63 balls at an average of 25.00, with an impressive strike rate of 198.4, featuring eight fours and 11 sixes.

In the match against LSG, Narine’s stellar knock of 81, supported by contributions from Phil Salt, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Ramandeep Singh, propelled KKR to a formidable total of 235/6 in their allotted 20 overs. LSG, needing 236 runs to win, faced a challenging task ahead.
