Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 1: Actor Dhanush Casts His Vote in Chennai

Actor Dhanush exercised his right to vote on Friday during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Alwarpet, Chennai, amid the fervor of electoral democracy. At the central Chennai polling station, the ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor was dressed in black slacks and a white shirt.

Voting for all (39) parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu, as well as (102) parliamentary constituencies dispersed throughout (21) states and Union Territories, commenced at 7:00 am on Friday during the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The polls close at 6:00 p.m. In Chennai, celebrities Rajinikanth, Ajith Kumar, and Kamal Haasan have also cast their votes.

These performers waved to fans and paparazzi, showing off their inked fingertips to recorders and photographers so they could film the moment as they cast their votes.
The opposition created a coalition named as INDIA to take on the BJP in these general elections, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running for a third term in a row. The goal of the INDIA bloc is to remove PM Modi from office.

Understanding the importance of these elections, Prime Minister Modi called on voters nationwide to cast their ballots in unprecedented numbers. He emphasized the value of each vote and urged young people and those who are voting for the first time to fully engage in determining the direction of the country in a social media post on X.

With (38) out of (39) seats, the Secular Progressive Alliance, led by the DMK, won the preceding general election in 2019.
Further phases of the election process are planned as it develops. The second phase is slated for April 26 and will be followed by May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
On June 4, the ballots will be counted.
