In a scathing address at an election rally in Jammu, Union Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress, National Conference, and PDP of presiding over a period marked by fake encounters and youth exploitation during their governance in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah, dismissing claims that the BJP was more interested in land than the welfare of the Kashmiri people, emphasized the party’s commitment to winning hearts through development initiatives.

Shah affirmed that assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will adhere to the Supreme Court’s deadline of September 30, asserting, “Nobody should have any doubt on this.” He criticized the three opposition parties, alleging they obstructed democracy’s growth and exploited Kashmiri youths. Shah particularly targeted National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and the PDP, attributing most fake encounters and youth shootings to their rule.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah credited the BJP for restoring peace and enabling development post the Article 370 abrogation. He emphasized that under Modi, Jammu and Kashmir transitioned from a state of terrorism and unrest to one of progress and stability.

Addressing concerns about land acquisition, Shah clarified the BJP’s stance, asserting they aimed to win people’s hearts rather than forcefully acquiring land. He urged Kashmiri youths not to be misled by misconceptions about the BJP’s intentions.

Shah reiterated that the ‘lotus’ symbol, representing the BJP, would naturally flourish across the Valley with the people’s support. He urged voters to reject the Congress, National Conference, and PDP, accusing them of exploitation over seven decades.

Highlighting developmental achievements under Modi’s tenure, Shah emphasized initiatives benefiting Jammu and Kashmir, including the abolition of Article 370, which he attributed to Modi’s resolve. Shah emphasized the restoration of constitutional rights to various marginalized sections of society post the Article 370 abrogation.

Underlining the government’s focus on development, Shah pledged to elevate border villages, boost tourism, and provide piped domestic gas to every household. He commended the administration led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for its anti-corruption stance and firm action against individuals associated with terrorism.

In closing, Shah assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the Modi government remained committed to their welfare and envisioned a prosperous future for the region.
