In their statement, the makers expressed deep sorrow, stating, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that Manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to acute subdural hematoma. He was 68 years old.” The note continued, acknowledging Toriyama’s unfinished works and his passion for creation. Despite his passing, they expressed hope that Toriyama’s unique creations would continue to be cherished by fans worldwide.

According to the statement, a private funeral service had already been held for Toriyama, attended by his family and a few close relatives.
