In a press conference held at the state Congress office after senior Congress leader and MLA Mahendrajit Singh Malviya joined the BJP from Bagidaura, Pradesh Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra spoke to the media.
He stated that Malviya’s role was already suspicious, and his move to the BJP would not have any impact on the party. Dotasra mentioned that the clear reason for Malviya’s party switch was the diminishing political relevance within Congress.
He said that in the face of fading political prospects, he decided to join the BJP to salvage his political career. Dotasra added that if Malviya were such a prominent leader, he wouldn’t have needed to join in Jaipur after facing setbacks in Delhi for three days.
Dotasra mentioned that Malviya was the sole victorious MLA in the 2013 elections in that district. He defeated other party candidates, and when this information reached the party, he provided clarification and apologised. However, in the recent elections, he attempted to win but was unsuccessful.
Dotasra questioned Malviya’s leadership, stating that if he were a significant leader, he wouldn’t have needed to join the BJP after facing setbacks in Delhi for three days.
Dotasra explained that during the 2013 elections, Malviya was the lone winning candidate, defeating other party aspirants. When this information reached the party, he clarified and apologised. This time, too, he tried to win but was unsuccessful.
