Bollywood actress Richa Chadha recently voiced her dissatisfaction with online travel company MakeMyTrip and airline Air India, citing poor service and difficulties in obtaining a refund after her flight was abruptly cancelled. In a social media post, Chadha issued a ‘scam alert,’ cautioning her followers to be wary of what she referred to as ‘saste (cheap) cheats’ and ‘scamsters.’

Chadha expressed frustration over her flight being cancelled without prior notice and faced challenges in securing a refund through MakeMyTrip’s website. While she didn’t disclose specific details about her trip, including the departure and destination, the actress criticized the alleged collusion between substandard airlines and convenient flight booking portals.

In her tweet, she wrote, “Perhaps the best way for substandard airlines to make a quick buck is to cancel flights without intimation or change timings so you miss your connections! With the collusion of so-called convenient flight booking portals like @makemytrip.”

Chadha accused MakeMyTrip’s customer service of being unhelpful and claimed that obtaining a refund through them was a challenging process. She also criticized Air India’s customer care for their alleged lack of apology for last-minute timing changes and arrogant behaviour.

MakeMyTrip responded to Chadha’s tweet, expressing regret for any inconvenience and requesting her booking ID for a prompt resolution. Following the interaction on social media, Chadha later updated her followers, stating that her refund was processed within two hours after the tweet.

In her update, Chadha appreciated the swift resolution but questioned whether the response would have been as prompt for a general passenger. She urged customers to use their voices and emphasized that big companies care more about their image than their customers.

The incident highlights the growing influence of social media in shaping customer-company interactions and the need for prompt responses to public grievances to protect a company’s reputation.

On the work front, Richa Chadha recently appeared in ‘Fukrey 3’ and is set to collaborate with Ali Fazal for ‘Girls Will Be Girls,’ a film produced under their banner.
