Jammu and Kashmir: NIA Seizes Terrorist-Owned Properties and Conducts Raids Across Awantipora

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken action by attaching two residential buildings in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, belonging to terrorists as part of their probe.

The attached properties, including a double-storey and a single-storey house, are jointly owned by Khursheed Ahmed Bhat and his five brothers. The attachment follows the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)A) and was ordered by the NIA Special Court in Jammu on September 30, 2023.

Recently, the NIA conducted raids across eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir linked to a terror conspiracy involving banned Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations. Among these organizations are Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda.

The search operations spanned seven districts, targeting residential premises of individuals linked to these organizations, including hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs). The raids targeted the affiliates and offshoots of these banned outfits, notably The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJ-K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, and PAAF.

During these searches, the NIA seized various digital devices containing substantial incriminating data and documents. The agency has been investigating the conspiracy of these recently formed offshoots to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir through violent terrorist activities and attacks.
