Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release, “Mission Raniganj,” draws inspiration from the true-life story of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, a hero who led India’s first successful coal mine rescue mission.
In the film’s first trailer, we catch a glimpse of what promises to be a gripping thriller. “Mission Raniganj” narrates the tale of one man’s relentless quest to rescue miners trapped in a coal mine. Parineeti Chopra joins the cast as Akshay Kumar’s on-screen wife, adding depth to the story. The trailer opens with a heart-wrenching mine collapse, plunging a group of miners into a perilous situation. Their cries for help echo through the underground passages. On the surface, we find Akshay Kumar, portraying a Sikh engineer, poised to launch a daring rescue mission. His determination to save the trapped miners at any cost forms the crux of the plot.
“Mission Raniganj” is a tribute to the late Jaswant Singh Gill, who played a pivotal role in India’s history as a mining hero. The film is set to hit theaters on October 6th, much to the anticipation of moviegoers. To build excitement, the filmmakers recently unveiled “Jalsa 2.0,” a track that has been warmly received by fans. Sung and penned by Satinder Sartaaj, the song features Akshay and Parineeti donning Punjabi attire and showcasing their dancing skills in a lively Bhangra performance.
“Mission Raniganj” is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by a team that includes Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor. The collaboration between Akshay Kumar and director Tinu Suresh Desai has previously resulted in the successful crime thriller “Rustom.”
Adding to the excitement, “Mission Raniganj” coincides with Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming film, “Thank You for Coming,” directed by Karan Boolani and featuring Shehnaaz Gill.
