Anantnag encounter: Drones, quadcopters being used by the military to find terrorists

Drones and quadcopters were used on Friday to locate and neutralize the gunmen in the ongoing gunfight between a combined team of security personnel from the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police and terrorists in the Kokernag area of the Anantnag district. The gunfight has now lasted three days in a row.
Officials claim that drones and quadcopters are helping the security forces involved in the operation, which began on Wednesday, in their continuous search for the terrorists.

In the current gunbattle in the Anantnag area, an Army Colonel who was leading a Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Rashtriya Rifles was killed. In the Kokernag area, enemy fire also claimed the lives of an Army Major and a Deputy Superintendent from the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The deceased DSP, Major Ashish Dhonak, and Colonel Manpreet Singh were all top Army officers. Humayun Bhat was the third victim.
Major Aashish Dhonchak’s lifeless remains were sent to his Panipat home early on Friday.
