According to Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin of Russia does not intend to go to the G20 Summit in India next month. According to the Kremlin spokesperson, a special military operation is currently the main focus. Putin also didn’t attend the most recent BRICS summit in South Africa; instead, he spoke to the group via video link.

India holds the G20 Presidency this year and the G-20 Summit will be held from September 8-10 in New Delhi. The summit will have distinguished guests from all over the world.
The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s 20 major developed and developing economies, making it the premier forum for international economic cooperation.

An arrest warrant for Putin and another Russian official had been issued earlier in March by the International Criminal Court (ICC). As part of a global effort to hold the Russian president and the Russian Federation accountable for atrocities beginning with the full-scale invasion in February 2022, the warrant is thought to be one of the first accusations against Putin for war crimes in Ukraine. Putin is alleged to have committed war crimes. The warrant names both of them for the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children from Russian-occupied territory to Russia. Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova is the Russian Federation’s commissioner for children’s rights.
