Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Gorakhpur and Varanasi on Friday. After visiting the Geeta Press in Gorakhpur, the Prime Minister will reach his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi. PM Modi will be acting as a member of Parliament in Varanasi, where he is to hold a ‘Tiffin Meeting’ with senior party workers in the city. During the Tiffin Meeting, the Prime Minister will hold a dialogue with party workers, discuss winning strategies for the Lok Sabha elections and make an effort to convey that the organisation is bigger than the government. The Prime Minister will also be speaking about how the party needs to come together to contest the elections.
The Prime Minister will also assess the condition of senior party workers during the meeting—which primarily includes senior and former party workers. Sources say that workers who were associated with PM Modi during the 2014 elections have also been invited. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary, and Organisational Secretary Dharampal will also be present at this Tiffin Meeting. In addition to the 63 councilors of Varanasi, 105 people including MPs, MLAs, ministers, and district presidents have been invited. After PM Modi’s Tiffin Meeting, on 8 July, MPs from across the state will hold Tiffin Meetings in their respective parliamentary constituencies. The meeting is part of the BJP’s outreach campaign, which has been extended until 15 July. After this, PM Modi might also visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple, where he will perform a ceremonial ablution as customary during the month of Sawan (monsoon season).
PM Modi will also address a public rally in Wazidpur, Varanasi to kickstart the party’s preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
