Manchester United defeats Chelsea, confirms UCL spot

In the Premier League match held at the Old Trafford stadium on Friday, Manchester United defeated Chelsea 4-1, securing their UEFA Champions League qualification by finishing in the top four of the league table.

Casemiro opened the scoring for Manchester United in the sixth minute of the match. He scored a header from a free-kick given to Manchester United in the early minutes of the game. Just around the half-time mark, Anthony Martial scored the second goal for Manchester United in the additional time of the first half. He scored a tap-in from a pass by Jadon Sancho.

Later in the 73rd minute, Bruno Fernandes scored from a penalty kick to make the score 3-0 for Manchester United. Marcus Rashford scored the fourth goal for Manchester United in the 78th minute of the match. Chelsea grabbed a consolation goal in the 89th minute of the match as Joao Felix scored from outside the 18-yard box to beat Manchester United’s goalkeeper.

Manchester United took a total of 18 shots, nine of which were on target. Their possession of the ball accounted for 41 percent. Manchester United completed 438 passes with an accuracy of 84 percent. Chelsea took 14 shots, of which five were on target. Their possession of the ball during the match was 59 percent. They accumulated a total of 617 passes with an accuracy of 90 percent.

Manchester United are third in the Premier League table with 72 points. They have played 37 matches, out of which they have won 22, lost nine, and drawn six. Manchester United will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season, as they have managed to qualify for it by finishing in the top four of the Premier League table.

Chelsea will be playing their last league game against Newcastle United on Sunday. Manchester United will be playing their last league game against Fulham on Sunday. In the FA Cup Final, Manchester United will be playing against Manchester City on June 3 at the Webley Stadium.
