The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at 15 different locations across Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab on Tuesday in connection with cases related to terror groups targeting minority communities, security personnel, and religious events and activities, the agency said on Wednesday. The raids were conducted on Tuesday at 14 locations in six districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam, and Kathua, and one in Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab.

According to the anti-terror agency, NIA investigators searched the offices of overground workers (OGWs) and cadres of different outlawed organizations and their affiliates.

NIA went on to say that “twelve suspects were identified who were in contact with various handlers in Pakistan” during the course of the probe. Later, NIA stated that “digital devices and incriminating material were seized from them yesterday” and that additional investigations into the case are underway. The agency has been actively working toward combating terrorism and has carried out several such operations in the past.
