Pressure of feeling not enough in the world

During our lifetime we meet so many people and every individual gives us a distinct experience. At times we come across people who make us feel inadequate, that may happen intentionally or unintentionally. The feeling of inadequacy could be in any terms – intellect, money, power, charisma, or achievements. This encounter may have a short term or a lasting impact on us. Sometimes we keep asking ourselves much after the interaction why do I feel inadequate? Now the question is, are we really inadequate? or it is just a perception either ours or of someone else. I feel people are all like small dots on a plane sheet, there are some dots above, some below and some adjacent to each other.

But if these dots can be marked on a graph paper everyone one will have their own space and where they are adequate. Aspirations, ambitions, desires and wishes are factors that motivate people in life. But at times individuals get so blindfolded by other people’s success that they start feeling an insistent pressure to have all the luxuries and riches in life. For them all the worldly pleasures become the locums of success and happiness. I believe, we all have in us around us, what we require to exist and evolve but we fail to accept and acknowledge that. Instead of cherishing what we have, we seek things which are not meant for us.

This sounds like a web of words where meaning is lost in it. In simpler terms people get into the rat race of life and start taking pressures of doing better, being superior and smarter. They want to prove this by hording and having more. Materialistic gains and blisses become purpose of their life. Which in turn induces stress and pressures of achieving more and flaunting. To simplify and understand this phenomenon, a person can have defined objectives and goals in life, few short term and few long term. Ensuring that achieving short term goals will take us closer and forward towards long term goals. Sometimes objective is crystal clear and we know how to proceed.

But at times we might feel lost and still looking for that goal, at that moment you might feel inadequate in this process or in your journey, however don’t let this deter you from trying or keep looking for your goal. Keep treading forward on your path exploring for your true objective in life and evolving as a person, professional and a soul.
