Shraddha murder case: Delhi Police record statements of Aaftab’s family members

The statements of the family of Aftab Amin Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walker murder case, were recorder by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
Aftab murdered his girlfriend Shraddha and chopped her body into 35 pieces. He preserved her body parts in a refrigerator and then dumped them in Chhatarpur’s forests.
Meanwhile, a previously filed complaint by Shraddha to the Maharashtra Police has surfaced, where she asked the police to take some action or otherwise Aftab will harm her.
In her letter to the Police, Shraddha alleged that Aftab beat her and threatened to kill her.
“If something happens to me, you should know who to go after,” she further wrote in her letter to police.
She further hinted in her letter that Aftab’s family also knows that he wants to kill her.
Based on these hints, Aftab’s family can be recalled for questioning. Although, their primary statements were recorded by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.
According to Tulini Police, the dead had written a report on November 23, 2020, and Shraddha had gone to her neighbour to register the complaint.
Aaftab said in court in Delhi on Tuesday that he killed his lover in the “thick of the moment.”
After his five days in police custody expired on Tuesday, he was brought before the Saket court in the capital.
In the nation’s capital on Tuesday, a court-approved polygraph examination of Aaftab was started. The process of administering a polygraph test on Aaftab has started, according to Rohini, Sanjeev Gupta, assistant director of the Forensic Science Laboratory, and the results would be available in a week.
Aaftab admitted to killing and dismembering his live-in spouse in their apartment in West Delhi’s Chhatarpur, according to Delhi Police, after being apprehended in the crime.
Gupta informed the reporters, “We’ve been directed by the Delhi Police and our director to process this case fast. We are working on some parameters that are important before conducting a narco test.”

A series of questions are asked to the subject during a polygraph exam while physiological markers including blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration are monitored. The subject’s honesty is then assessed using this information.
