A nine-year-old girl who lived in a rented home in Swaroop Nagar, north Delhi, raped and killed by 52-year-old landlord on December 12. The girl’s body was allegedly dumped in the Munak canal, according to police officers. The police said that the accused has been taken into custody.

Police said that divers have been sent into the canal to look for the girl’s remains, but her body has not yet been located. During this time, the girl’s neighbours and family stopped the GT Karnal Road close to Swaroop Nagar for three to four hours, demanding that the victim’s remains be returned to them as soon as possible and that the accused face the worst penalties possible. After receiving assurances from the authorities that they are making every effort to locate the body, the demonstrators then dispersed.

Regarding the case, the child lived in the leased property with her parents, who were both employed in the manufacturing industry, and her two younger brothers, according to the authorities involved in the investigation. After feeding the kids on December 12 at around 1:30 pm, the girl’s mother departed for work, bringing her 2-year-old son as her youngest child.

The 6-year-old middle child, according to his family, fell asleep after lunch and started weeping when he couldn’t find his sister. This happened at around 5 p.m. “After spending 30 minutes with him, a neighbour informed me that my daughter was missing,” the minor’s father stated. “She was taken to my wife’s factory.”

When the girl’s parents went to the Swaroop Nagar police station at around 8:30 p.m., they filed a police complaint. This led to the registration of a first information report under Indian Penal Code section 363 and the start of an inquiry.

The girl was observed getting into a car with a male in one of the CCTV segments that were studied and retrieved throughout the investigation, according to the police.

He turned became our main suspect and the final person to see the girl. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar Singh stated, “We showed the parents the tape, and they recognised him as their landlord. On December 15, we went to his residence.

The landlord was reported to have been involved in an accident close to Bakoli in Alipur and was admitted to the critical care unit of a private hospital in Rohini when the police arrived at his residence. The officer declared that he was unfit for statement at the time. After being questioned for a long time on December 17, the accused was allowed to speak, and he admitted to raping and killing the girl.

On December 12, he claimed to have taken her in his automobile and sexually assaulted her inside the vehicle. Then he became afraid and made the decision to murder her. The officer stated that he claimed to throw her body in the Munak canal after killing her.

The original FIR was amended to include the terms of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, as well as IPC sections 364 (kidnapping in order to commit murder), 302 (murder), and 201 (destruction of evidence) following his statement.

The landlord gave a formal statement after being released from the hospital on December 18, and early on Tuesday, authorities claimed, he was taken into custody. Police stated that since the accused keeps reiterating his or her story, it is unknown how the girl was slain.
