In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, an 85-year-old woman has died following an alleged rape in her home. The incident occurred in Hafizganj, where the accused, 35-year-old Rakesh, a local resident, was arrested by police.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya, the elderly woman lived alone after the deaths of her husband and son. Her brother and sister-in-law, as well as her daughter-in-law, reside nearby.
The daughter-in-law discovered Rakesh assaulting her mother-in-law around 1 pm and raised an alarm. Rakesh fled the scene, but the family immediately contacted the police. Unfortunately, the woman died shortly after the attack.
Police apprehended Rakesh, who is reportedly an alcoholic, and are currently questioning him.
