In a horrific incident, a 71-year-old elderly man was dragged by a scooter across a street in Bengaluru’s Magadi on Tuesday, and police have registered a case against the accused.
Earlier, on social media, the video of the incident also went viral, in which the accused, who was on a scooter, allegedly hit the man on a four-wheeler.
Later, when the accused was questioned, he tried to escape, and during that time, the driver got hold of the scooter.
Meanwhile, the police have identified the accused as Sahil (25) in a report in which it was revealed the four-wheeler driver was seen dragging behind the scooter.
“The scooter rider tried to escape and dragged the four-wheeler driver from Magadi Road toll gate to Hosahalli metro station,” a user alleged posted on Twitter.
However, when the video went viral, the police reacted quickly and apprehended the accused scooter rider.
“The victim identified as Muttappa (71), a native of Vijayapur district, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Govindaraj Nagar police have apprehended the two-wheeler driver,” a senior official said.
“We are further looking into the incident,” senior official added.
