In a significant leap towards bolstering foundational education, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department, under the guidance of Chief Education Officer KIshtwar, Prahlad Bhagat, has spearheaded a collaborative effort with respective Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to revamp over 50 Pre-primary sections in government schools across the district. This initiative aligns with the educational standards mandated by the Directorate of School Education Jammu.
The endeavour aims to fortify the educational framework in Kishtwar, with Pre-Primary Sections now outfitted with facilities on par with leading private institutions. Government schools in the district are now equipped with cutting-edge amenities, including audio-visual aids such as LCD screens, child-friendly furniture, water cooler cum purifiers, and a plethora of indoor-outdoor play materials.
This transformation marks a significant stride in not only fostering an optimal learning environment but also in addressing educational disparities, particularly among marginalized communities such as the Scheduled Tribes (ST). By reducing dropout rates and improving enrollment ratios, this initiative holds the promise of profoundly impacting the educational landscape.
Prahlad Bhagat expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing its potential to motivate students and elevate the overall standard of education in Kishtwar. The concerted focus on establishing Model Kindergartens and enhanced Pre-Primary Sections underscores the department’s commitment to delivering quality education to the youngest learners. To date, more than 50 schools across various zones of the district have been successfully equipped with state-of-the-art amenities in the Pre-primary sections, with significant concentrations in the Nagseni and Kishtwar Zones. This strategic distribution ensures broad accessibility and benefits for a diverse spectrum of students. The success of this collaborative endeavor not only underscores the vision and dedication of the School Education Department but also reflects the synergy among education officials and administrators in Kishtwar. As these upgraded facilities continue to flourish, they are poised to serve as exemplars of quality education, aligning with the principles outlined in the New Education Policy 2020 and fostering activity-based teaching-learning methodologies for children aged 3-6 years.
