Many contoversial theories have been attached to this place in India. The village has been deserted since the 1800s and is believed to be cursed. A local legend claims that the Paliwal Brahmins, affluent people, previously resided in the area. In order to wed the daughter of a villager, a minister by the name of Salim Singh threatened the villagers with exorbitant taxes. The locals cursed the site as they left it overnight in order to protect themselves and the girl from the evil minister. The locals there hold the view that no one can live in peace as long as an evil aura still lingers in the town.
