Cyber police team arrested 3 accused in the cyber fraud case of Rs 2.28 crore. The arrested accused were identified as Sanjeev Shukla, resident of village Samaria, Rewa Madhya Pradesh, Sumit Mishra, resident of Jyoti Kiran Society, Noida and Ankit Bunkar, resident of village Burgana, District Sidvi, Madhya Pradesh. Giving information, cyber station in-charge Rakesh Kumar said that a complaint was received through the cyber portal in the cyber station. In the complaint given to the police, he told that he is retired from the Indian Army and on January 23, 2024, he received a group invite link on WhatsApp on his mobile and by clicking on the link, he joined a group. Due to which in the name of buying shares in trading, he bought shares for Rs 5 lakh, Rs 98730 on 08 February 2024, Rs 10 lakh on 09 February 2024 and Rs 40 lakh on 12 and 13 February. Through which he kept updating the group and one of the women called and said that you have got a profit of Rs 7 crore 86 lakh and you have to deposit Rs 60 lakh, due to which the above mentioned cyber thug collected a total of Rs 2 crore 28 lakh, 98 lakh from the victim.

Cyber fraud was committed with an amount of Rs. 1000, after which the victim got suspicious and lodged a complaint on the cyber portal. Based on the complaint, a case was registered in the cyber police station. Police further investigated the case and arrested 3 accused. The accused were produced in the court and taken on police remand for 3 days. Interrogation of cyber criminals is going on in the matter. The amount defrauded in the case has been recovered and other accused involved in the case will be arrested soon.
