One of India’s most popular SUVs, the Tata Nexon has been launched in the new avatar, 6 years after it first hit the roads. The facelift gets some big changes includes a new design, many more features and a new gearbox as well. Along with the Nexon, Tata Motors has also launched the Nexon EV again, and this one too along with new features and design gets a longer range than earlier.

Design
The new Nexon gets a redesigned front, Bi-LED Headlamps & Sequential DRLS which look quite modern. Importantly the signature X Factor seen on the rear is now Lit and the taillamp too gets a welcome & goodbye feature. The emotive blade lamps swipe, instead of blinking which is a nice touch. The extended spoiler houses the rear wiper which is otherwise hidden in plain sight. The 16-inch alloys gets a new design which looks more appealing than earlier. The Nexon also gets some new colours including the striking purple shade.

Interiors
The of the new Nexon comes with a 3-tone dashboard where the highlight is the new gen Leather Wrapped Phygital Steering Wheel, with 2-Spokes, and the Illuminated logo making it a first in India. In terms of tech you get features like features like voice assisted electric sunroof, a new 10.25-inch infotainment system by Harman with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, first in segment 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster which displays maps in full screen. You also get Connected Vehicle technology with iRA 2.0, which offers remote engine start stop and AC apart from many navigation and safety features.

Engine
The Nexon continues to remain one of the few SUVs in the segment which comes with both Petrol and Diesel engine options. The 1.2 liter Revotron Turbo Petrol motor can be bought in Manual and AMT options like earlier but now you also get the options of a Wet clutch 7 speed DCA transmission. The intelligent, 7-speed DCA, operated by a monostable shifter, together with a paddle shifter, according to Tata makes the performance refined and effortless. On the 1.5 litre Revotorq common rail Diesel engine, options are limited to manual and AMT.

Safety
Tata Motors says the Nexon has undergone a modernization process to meet the stringent GNCAP 2022 safety protocols, incorporating structural enhancements. It gets 6 airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Control, 3-point rear seatbelts with occupant detection, passenger airbag deactivation switch and ISOFIX Child seats. Then you also have a high definition 360-degree, surround-view system, front parking sensors, and a blind-view monitor.
Prices
The new Nexon ranges from Rs. 8.09 lakh to Rs. 14.70 lakh for the Petrol models while Diesel ranges from Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 15.50 lakh, all prices ex-showroom and introductory. Departing from traditional variants, the SUV is available in four Personas, each catering to a specific set of customers. These include Fearless, Creative, Pure and Smart.  There are as many as 69 trims to choose from, so it may not be an easy task to pick the one made for you after all. Talking about the EV you have the prices starting at Rs. 14.74 lakh which go up to Rs. 19.94 lakh, ex-showroom.
