In the film city area of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, police detained a man on Friday morning who had been charged with up to 21 offences.

“During the check, an attempt was made to stop a suspect who tried to run away but got injured after an encounter that took place between him and the police personnel near Film City, where he also fired at the police,” said Ashutosh Dwivedi, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida.

Danish alias Sayyar, who was detained and charged with 21 offences in the Delhi-NCR, has been recognised by the police. According to ADCP Dwivedi, Danish has been the subject of two other cases at the Sector 20 Police Station.

Three cartridges, a revolver, and a motorcycle that were taken from Phase 3 were found in his hands, and the police also reported that his second companion had managed to flee the scene and was currently being searched.

In the meantime, during the late-night hours of Thursday, another incident occurred with a chain and cell phone thief named Harjeet from Ghaziabad in the Police Station area of Sector 113, close to Prithla.

The accused had stolen three mobile phones on Thursday in Ghaziabad, according to the ADCP.

“When police chased, the miscreant opened fire and got injured in retaliatory firing. Three mobile phones and one vehicle were recovered. Search for his absconding partner is underway,” he said.

He was found to be in possession of all three stolen cell phones as well as a stolen KTM bike from Delhi.

The source continued that he has “over a dozen crimes in Delhi NCR charged against him and his evading partner is being searched.”

More information about both encounters is being prepared.
