19 Political Parties Moved Supreme Court Seeking Guidelines Against Alleged Arbitrary Actions Of use of central investigating agencies the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation wherein arresting the opposition leaders, wherein the parties include the Indian National Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Shiv Sena
The bench comprising of CJI DY Chandrachud was hearing the matter, wherein the matter was listed by Senior Advocate AM Singhvi. Therefore, the political parties seeking to lay down the guidelines for law enforcing agencies and the courts on remand, arrest and bail.
It has also been submitted by him that 95% of cases are being of the opposition leaders and we are only asking this court for the pre arrest guidelines and for the post arrest guidelines.
In the present case, other parties also approached the Supreme Court wherein including DMK, RJD, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, AITC, NCP, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, JD(U), CPI(M), the Communist Party of India, Samajwadi Party, J&K National Conference.
Accordingly, the CJI agreed to hear the matter next on April 5.
