Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the state government is preparing a plan to buy land for large projects including industry, health and education. If farmers are willing to give their land to the government, the Chief Minister, “then such schemes can be implemented soon.”
CM Khattar said that the people’s representatives should identify tracts of land in the concerned area and inform the government. Khattar was interacting with public representatives of the Bhiwani-Mahendergarh Lok Sabha constituency yesterday.
Bhiwani-Mahendergarh Lok Sabha MP, Dharmbir Singh, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, JP Dalal, Social Justice Empowerment and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister, Omprakash Yadav, MLAs Abhay Singh Yadav, Sitaram Yadav and Ghanshyam Sarraf, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Bharat Bhushan Bharti, OSD to the Chief Minister, Bhupeshwar Dayal, former MLA, Shashi Ranjan Parmar and other party officers were also present. Chief Minister Khattar said, “If land is available in Bhiwani, Mahendragarh and Charkhi Dadri, big projects can be set up in these areas, directly benefiting the people. These will open up employment opportunities, especially for the youth, along with avenues for self-employment.”
The CM added that 1,000 acres of land had been purchased through the e-Bhoomi portal. On this portal, farmers have voluntarily given their lands for purchase. Khattar further said “The government has not forcefully acquired even an inch of land in our tenure of eight years. Only the necessary land has been taken on which railway lines, roads etc have been built.” He noted that farmers in the state agreed to give up to 25 acres of land for the PADMA scheme.
The Chief Minister made clear that the land acquired earlier was subjected to frequent enhancement, which was a burden on all. “Therefore, the government is taking steps to take land for development projects only with the consent of farmers.” In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that 100 to 200 acres of land can be taken with the consent of the farmers in many villages like Moosnauta, Ateli Begpur, Bihali and Khudana in the Mahendragarh district. The Chief Minister stated that the CM window, Jan Samvad Portal for development works and Gram Darshan and Nagar Darshan Portals have been developed to address the problems of the people. It has also been decided to organise similar programmes for public representatives. This Jan Samvad held by Ministers has been successful. Similarly, Members of Parliament (MPs) will also organise Samvad soon, he added. The Chief Minister said that nine committees of senior officers of different departments have been formed to address the problems of the people in Tosham, Bhiwani, Loharu, Mahendragarh, Ateli, Nangal Chaudhary, Charkhi Dadri, Barhada of Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency.
