The Punjab government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, is consistently prioritizing every section of the state. In a further move in this direction, a 100 per cent toll is exempted for Divyang persons on National Highways in Punjab.
Providing additional details, Deputy Commissioner, Aashika Jain specified that vehicles registered in the name of Divyang person, under the ownership of Divyang persons according to the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and its rules, will receive a full toll exemption on national highways. Divyang persons must register their vehicles’ ownership as Divyang persons in the registration certificate.

The Deputy Commissioner added that any Divyang person can register their new or existing vehicle as a Divyang person with the transport department. To avail of this, concerned individuals need to obtain a special exempted fast tag by registering on the website and after completing the online form, the competent authority will issue an Exempted Special Fast Tag. This Tag must be affixed to the divyang person’s vehicle.
Providing further information, the Deputy Commissioner stated that comprehensive details about the rules related to this initiative are accessible on the department’s website. Additionally, if Divyang persons encounter any difficulties in utilizing this facility, they can contact the office of the District Social Security Officer or the Child Development Project Officer in the concerned block.
