Nepali Congress has invited West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata to Nepal Convention that is scheduled from December 10-12.

If all goes well, Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit Nepal on December 11, sources from the TMC said.

The invitation letter was sent to the Chief Minister by Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Prime Minister of Nepal, and the President of Nepali Congress. The National Convention of the Nepali Congress is on December 10-12. The invitation reads, “We believe that Mamata’s presence will inspire us to work together, to maintain a relationship with the other party.”

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee was invited to attend the World Peace Conference in Rome. She was asked to attend a two-day peace conference in Rome on October 6 and 7, but she alleged that the Center did not allow her to embark on that tour. Mamata alleged that Centre had disallowed her attendance at a global peace meet in Rome, where she was the only invitee from the country, “out of jealousy”.

Meanwhile, amidst the winter session in the Parliament, TMC national secretary Abhishek Banerjee will hold a meeting with TMC MPs of both Upper and Lower Houses on December 7 at the national capital to discuss the issues to be raised in the Parliament.
