Tourist visas in India were closed for two years due to the epidemic. India has recently started issuing visas from Bangladesh. This time there is an opportunity to spend 9 consecutive days off during Eid for various reasons. As a result, many are eager to travel abroad on long vacations. India is the first choice of many due to easy visas, less travel time, and low-cost medical treatment.

The Indian Visa Application Center has increased manpower and office hours to cope with the pressure. The Indian Visa Application Center has continued its activities for visa applicants even during the closing days. Earlier, visa applications were accepted till 1 PM every day. However, due to increasing pressure, the visa center is being kept open from 8 AM to 8 PM. Manpower has been increased at the counter. Visa centers in other districts of the country are also under increasing pressure. In the 2016-17 financial year, about 22 lakh tourists went to India from Bangladesh.

Bangladeshis go to India mainly for low-cost medical treatment, heritage, natural beauty, sightseeing and shopping. At the same time, the communication system and security of India are more tourist-friendly. Airfares have increased due to increased demand in India. Many will travel by road to reduce costs. In the meantime, the demand for tourists has increased and the rent of hotels in India has also gone up.

During Eid, people will be under a lot of pressure at the borders. Car rental will also increase. A Bangladeshi young man Nazrul Islam said “I went to Kolkata two months ago,” he said. Then the rent of the room was 12 hundred rupees, now the rent of that room has become 4 thousand rupees. If the fast is 30 then Eid will be on Tuesday 3rd May. As a result, the Eid holidays will start on May 2 and end on Wednesday, May 4. On the other hand, Sunday, May 1 is a public holiday on Labor Day. And the day before, Saturday, April 30, Friday, April 29. As a result, seven consecutive days off from April 29 to May 4. On the other hand, after the Eid holiday on Thursday 5th May. Then 7th and 8th May (Friday and Saturday) are weekly holidays. As a result, if the employees get one day off on May 5, they will be able to spend a total of nine days off on Eid. Golam Qadir, vice-president of the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association, told the that people have not been able to travel for the past two years. Now everything is becoming normal. As a result, everyone is eager to travel outside the country. But the financial situation in Corona is not the same as before. That is why many will go to the neighboring countries at a low cost. India is the first choice for the people of our country. Now thousands of people are applying for visas every day. There are no exact figures, but more than 5 lakh people may go to India for the Eid holidays. Ghulam Qadir said airfares have already gone up due to human demand. India also has domestic tourists, tourists from different countries will visit, due to which the cost has increased more than before.

Rakib Hossain will go to Sikkim, via India on the Eid holidays. he said “I want to go somewhere for many days, India is a close country, the cost is also low. So I will go to Sikkim with 4 friends for Eid holidays.”
