Former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro has already joined the Trinamool. With the two-time chief minister of Goa and an experienced politician in their party, the Trinamool in Goa have have gained a considerable amount of political mileage. This time, Luisinho himself said that he was suggested by Prashant Kishor and his organization (IPAC) to leave the Congress and join the Trinamool.
In an interview with NDTV, Luizinho Faleiro himself said, “You may not believe it, I have never met Mamata Banerjee or Abhishek Banerjee. Both of them are not only Trinamool leaders but the leaders of national prominence. But they never met me.”
Speaking to NDTV, Mr Faleiro said that it was PK and his group, I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee), which had approached him to switch to Mamata Banerjee’s party. “Of course, he had approached me. Just a few days back,” he said.
“Just before I took the decision, we had the interaction.”
PK is simultaneously trying to strengthen the Congress in one state, while putting the Congress on back foot in the another state. He is also meeting Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, and reportedly wants to be the General Secretary of the Congress.
In Punjab, he quit his job as advisor to Amarinder, and advised the Congress leadership to remove him. Again in Goa, Luizinho is being advised to join the Trinamool Congress.
There is disagreement among the top leadership of the Congress over how to get Prashant Kishor in the team. Sonia Gandhi wants the opinion of senior leaders in this regard. Discussions have been held regarding as to how to use PK before the upcoming assembly polls. In Goa, meanwhile, many who have encouraged Congress leaders to disband are not looking well.
Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor has again made his name in the voter list in Bhabanipur, Kolkata.
The Trinamool has been criticizing Congress openly. It is not possible to fight against Narendra Modi using the face of Rahul Gandhi, Trinmool wrote in their mouthpiece. As Trinamool is claiming to be the real Congress and is constantly attacking the Gandhis, PK is giving various suggestions to that very party. These developments suggest that Prashant Kishor is weakening the Congress party at myriad fronts.
