Most awaited cabinet expansion is finally to take here today at 4 PM in Haryana Rajbhawan, as the schedule for the oath taking ceremony was issued on Sunday. It is pertinent to mention that there were a total of 14 posts of Haryana cabinet ministers. While two posts are still lying vacant in cabinet berths after the BJP government came into existence about two years ago. The BJP failed to form the government solely as the party could not succeed in gaining the required majority of legislators which led to forming an alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) in order to form the government. Thus, both parties formed the government in an alliance and out of the total 14 ministers, the JJP was given a share of three posts of ministers, and the list of present ministers consists of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Anil Vij, Kanwarpal Gurjjer, JP Dalal, Kamlesh Dhanda, Moolchand Sharma, Banwari Lal, OP Dayal, Ranjeet Singh Chuatala, Anoop Dhanak and Sandeep Sandeep.
According to sources, a string of claimants legislators are in the queue for the post of ministers in the BJP and the JJP and the list includes the name of Kamal Gupta and Devender Babli respectively as the strongest claimants. While other claimants in the BJP namely Nirmal Chaudhary, Seema Trikha and Abhay Yadav are also in the fray. If we look at the other claimants in the JJP, a party legislator and senior leader named Ishwar singh hailing from the SC community does exist as another strong candidate. he may be replaced with Anoop Dhanak, a minister of state belonging to the same community in case the reshuffling take place.
It is believed, as per sources, the state government may come up with a decision of reshuffling the cabinet which is likely to lead to a political scenario in the state. Nobody can dent the fact that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal is the supreme authority to finalise the name in his party as he is is good books of the party command along the Prime Minister Narender Modi. It also came to light the most of the legislators belonging to both parties, were putting for their best in term of lobbying to get the berth in cabinet. Besides, it is worth mentioning that the caste factor is most likely to play factor in expansion of cabinet. Both the BJP and the JJP are not in a position to ignore this aspect, as the same is likely to imbalance in terms caste factor.
