A 20-year-old individual was apprehended for arranging a cab from Bollywood icon Salman Khan’s residence under the guise of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, confirmed police on Friday. Identified as Rohit Tyagi, a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the accused allegedly scheduled the cab from Galaxy Apartment, Salman Khan’s residence, to Bandra Police Station.
Police elaborated, “Upon arrival at Galaxy Apartment, the cab driver inquired about the booking with the watchman, who, initially taken aback, promptly reported the incident to the nearby Bandra Police Station.” Following this, Mumbai’s Bandra Police questioned the cab driver and traced the online booking back to Rohit Tyagi, a 20-year-old student from Ghaziabad.

Following an investigation, it was discovered that Tyagi had staged the taxi reservation as a practical joke, claiming that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was responsible. Tyagi’s arrest in Ghaziabad followed the filing of a complaint against him by the Mumbai police. After that, he was brought to Mumbai and appeared in court. There, the judge placed him under two days’ remand in the custody of the Bandra Police.
Further details on the matter are pending. Earlier in the week, Kutch Police apprehended two individuals, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, in connection with a firing incident outside Galaxy Apartments. The Mumbai Crime Branch was granted custody of the accused until April 25. The suspects, seen firing rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence, were captured on CCTV, wearing caps and carrying backpacks. Investigations suggest their association with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
It’s noteworthy that since November 2022, Salman Khan‘s security level was heightened to Y-Plus due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. The actor was granted permission to carry a personal firearm and procured an armored vehicle for enhanced safety. Arbaaz Khan, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed concern over the incident and affirmed full cooperation with Mumbai Police in the ongoing inquiry.
