A desperate appeal from a well-known cartoonist to a US President has drawn nationwide attention, revealing his fight with cancer and the hurdles of medical red tape. The man behind the story, Scott Adams, is using his voice in a race against time.
Who is Scott Adams and Why is He in the News?
Scott Adams is the creator of the “Dilbert” comic strip, a widely popular cartoon that satirizes office culture. Beyond his work as a cartoonist, Adams is also a known author and political commentator. He is in the news because he has made a public appeal to President Donald Trump for help with his cancer treatment. Adams has metastasized prostate cancer and claims a delay in receiving a crucial drug is jeopardizing his survival. He announced on social media platform X that he would ask Trump directly to intervene, citing a past promise from the president.

Who Did Scott Adams Ask For Help?
Adams is appealing directly to Donald Trump. This request is based on a personal connection formed earlier this year. In May, Adams revealed that Trump had called him unexpectedly. During that conversation, which Adams livestreamed, Trump reportedly told him, “If you need anything, I’ll make it happen.” Adams is now holding Trump to that offer. He stated, “I need it,” and is asking the president to pressure his healthcare provider to schedule a delayed medical procedure. By taking his plea public, Adams ensured it would be seen not just by Trump, but by his entire network of influential supporters.
Who is Responding to Adams’ Plea?
The response to Adams’ post was immediate and came from the highest levels of Trump’s circle. The most significant reply came from Donald Trump himself, who reposted the plea on Truth Social and wrote, “On it.” This prompted action from his administration’s key figures. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. replied, asking how to reach Adams. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino Jr. confirmed that Trump, Kennedy, and Dr. Mehmet Oz were “all tracking” the situation. Donald Trump Jr. also shared the post, adding, “We’re all praying for you.”
Going to make sure that my dad sees this. We’re all praying for you, keep fighting!

What is the “Pluvicto” Drug at the Center of This?
Adams is looking for a prescription medication called Pluvicto. It was approved by the FDA in 2022 to treat a specific type of advanced prostate cancer. The medication targets and destroys cancer cells using targeted radiation treatment. Adams’ specific issue is not with the drug’s approval but with its administration. He states that his healthcare provider, Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, approved the treatment but has failed to schedule the brief intravenous (IV) infusion needed to deliver it. This administrative delay is what prompted his desperate public cry for help.
