Donald Trump has compared the crime rate in Washington, D.C., to the likes of Mexico City and Islamabad. He claimed that it ranks higher than both in terms of both in terms of homicide before going on further to compare it to other infamous cities.

Trump Compares Washington, DC to Islamabad

In a recent post on his Truth Social account, POTUS shared key details related to the state of their capital city. In his post, he compared the homicide rate of Washington, D.C. to several third-world countries notorious for their crime and claimed it outranks all of them.

Comparing the capital to Islamabad and other cities, he said, “The City’s Homicide Rate is higher than places notorious for their violence, such as Mexico City, Bogota, Islamabad, and Addis Ababa — Almost ten times higher than Fallujah, Iraq.”

Trump: “If D.C. were a State”

Going on further, the American president said that if D.C. were a state, it would have the highest crime rate out of all the states in America. He shares the present condition of the place and how it has worsened over time, including the doubling of the murder rates.

“If D.C. were a State, it would have the highest Homicide Rate of any State in America. The Violent Crime Rate in D.C. has worsened, and the Murder Rate has essentially DOUBLED in just over a decade,” he said.

He also points out the manipulation of crime statistics while mentioning its Precinct Commander who was recently suspended for suspicion of the same.

“But these are only the “official” statistics released by corrupt City Officials. The REAL numbers are many times worse. In fact, a Precinct Commander was just suspended for allegedly manipulating the Violent Crime Statistics, and the D.C. Police Union, likewise, says the real numbers are much higher. Because the Democrat Government of D.C. has largely stopped investigating, arresting, and prosecuting most Crime, the published statistics don’t even capture a fraction of the actual Violence.”

How Bad is Crime in Washington, D.C.?

The US President outlined the current condition of crime in the capital city and wrote that the locals have stopped reporting crime, calling them “captive prisoners in their own City.” He emphasised that the locals have accepted the crime and are taking measures to live with it rather than reporting it.

“Citizens living in fear have largely given up on calling the Police, instead choosing not to walk the streets after dark, essentially becoming captive prisoners in their own City. Stores lock up their merchandise behind glass walls. Gang Youth Violence is so common it goes largely unreported. Vehicle Theft in D.C. is more than three times the National Average. Schools are completely dysfunctional. Citizens are afraid to speak up or, call the Police, lest they be targeted.”

D.C. Police under Federal Control
