Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have announced a combined $500 million contribution to a NATO-led program aimed at sending advanced U.S.-made weapons to Ukraine, including the powerful Patriot missile systems, according to Khaama Press.
Funding Based on US-Backed Proposal
The support comes under a plan originally proposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, in which the United States provides the weapons, while European allies cover the cost.
Under this initiative:

Sweden will provide $275 million

Norway will contribute $146 million

Denmark will give $90 million
The funds will be sent to NATO immediately to ensure fast delivery of military equipment to Ukrainian forces.
“Speed is Vital,” Say Nordic Ministers
Defence ministers from both Denmark and Norway underlined the urgency of the situation “Speed is vital,” said Denmark’s defence minister. Norway’s counterpart emphasized that Ukraine needs the equipment “as soon as possible.”
Zelenskyy Hails Support as “New Foundation for European Security”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the pledge, calling it a “new foundation for European security” and an important step to deter Russian aggression.
This NATO initiative is part of the Ukraine Defense Capability Coalition, which includes Canada, the Netherlands, and other European countries. The Netherlands had earlier pledged €500 million to the coalition.
Trump, Zelenskyy Discuss Peace Plan
On Tuesday, President Zelenskyy also confirmed a “productive conversation” with Donald Trump, focusing on finding ways to end the war with Russia. He said the discussion centered on achieving a “just and lasting peace.” “It is truly a must to stop the killing as soon as possible,” Zelenskyy said. “We fully support this. Many months could have already passed without war, had Russia not been prolonging it.” Zelenskyy added that the two leaders also shared battlefield updates, especially regarding the recent surge in Russian missile strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. He noted that President Trump was “fully informed” about the intensified attacks from Moscow.
