US President Donald Trump has warned he may take legal action against media mogul Rupert Murdoch, along with NewsCorp and the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), over a recent story linking him to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The article appeared in the Murdoch-owned WSJ on Thursday.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump strongly criticized the article, calling it “fake news” and announcing plans to sue the publication and its owners. “Fake News Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Rupert Murdoch will be sued shortly,” Trump wrote.

Report Claims Trump Signed Letter Tied to Epstein

The controversy began after the WSJ published a report discussing Trump’s alleged connections with Epstein. One key detail in the article included a 2003 birthday letter, supposedly sent to Epstein by his friends, that featured what the report described as a “bawdy” signature from Donald Trump.

Trump Denies Involvement, Says Letter Is Fake

Trump denied any link to the letter and claimed he had already informed both the Wall Street Journal and Murdoch himself that the signature was fabricated. Despite this, the WSJ went ahead with the story.

In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote that he had personally told the WSJ and Murdoch that the “letter is fake,” but they still published the story, which prompted his legal warning.
