President Donald Trump watched the U.S. Open men’s final on Sunday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, where a photo taken by photographer Andres Kudacki went viral online. Trump image shows sitting in his box and what appears to be taking a tablet during the men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

The image immediately sparked interest across social media. “Does anybody in the medical field have an ID on what pill this is Donald Trump took at the U.S. Open?” one X user posted. Another person asked, “What type of pill is Donald Trump taking at the U.S. Open today?”

Internet speculation was mixed, with some speculating that it appeared similar to aspirin, a drug the White House authenticated Trump takes routinely. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump is on an aspirin regimen as part of a regular cardiovascular prevention regimen.

Others thought the object was less alarming, with some users commenting it was just a mint. “Looks like a mint drop candy,” one user commented, while another said, “Looks like sugar-free Altoids mints to me lol.”

Health Concerns Resurface

The photograph is amid new scrutiny of Donald Trump health. Worries were heightened over Labor Day weekend when Trump had no planned public events, feeding speculation — including a spurious online death hoax that he debunked during the opening of his Rose Garden Club.

Trump was 79 years old at the time, and he has long been the subject of concern regarding his health, especially after he was photographed with a bruise on his hand. President Trump’s doctor, Dr. Sean Barbabella, conceded the presence of bruising and attributed it to repetitive handshaking and the blood-thinning properties of aspirin. He stated that the President is in “excellent cognitive and physical health” and that the bruises are characteristic of mild soft tissue inflammation.

Leavitt also spoke to The Independent, highlighting Trump’s very active public life: “President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering.”

She further stated that Trump had recently undergone an extensive medical checkup, including vascular testing, that showed he suffers from a chronic vein issue.
