Diddy Claims ‘Expired, Maggot-Infested Food’ is Served at Brooklyn Prison

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has raised alarming concerns about the living conditions at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he is currently held following his 2024 arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Combs’ attorney claimed that the rapper has been served ‘expired’ and ‘maggot-infested’ meals in a letter he addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian. He also attached a photograph showcasing the spoiled food and stated, “The maggot-infested food captured in that photo is, unfortunately, not an uncommon experience.”

Agnifilo described the detention centre as ‘inhumane’ and argued that the ‘exceptional circumstances’ justify Combs’ bail, prior to his sentencing on October 3. He added that the facility has been plagued by frequent lockdowns and subpar treatment.

Combs was convicted in July on two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. While he was acquitted of more serious charges, the 55-year-old music mogul could face up to 20 years in prison. Judge Subramanian had earlier denied Combs’ request for bail, a decision he upheld post-trial, stating there was “no reason” to change his stance. However, he did express willingness to move the sentencing date up.

Calling the bail denial ‘unfair’, Agnifilo argued that the government is ‘hellbent on punishing [Combs]…in a more draconian manner than anyone in U.S. history’.

The rapper’s lawyer asserted that Combs has ‘shown nothing but respect’ to the legal process and is ‘not a flight risk’. He added that Combs’ incarceration has been ‘difficult’, particularly due to the food situation, which has reportedly been the ‘roughest’ part of his experience behind bars.

Agnifilo stated that Diddy is using this time to reflect and ‘start small.’ He hopes to reconnect with children if release is granted to him. In the meantime, speculation has circled around the possibility of his presidential pardon by Donald Trump. However, the White House has refused to comment on the matter.
