35 cars from a Union Pacific train, suspected of carrying hazardous material, derailed near Gordon, Texas. Officials confirmed that there has been no leakage of any material or casualties reported.
Associated Press reported that there had been no evacuation orders. Emergency services confirmed, “All personnel have been accounted for, and no injuries have been reported. The situation is currently stable, but not yet fully controlled.”
The train cars derailed a few miles east of Gordon. Videos circulating online showcase scattered train cars along the railroad, with smoke rising in the air. ABC News said that even though the exact cargo was unclear, it is suspected that the train cars contained hazardous material.

Officials said, “Fire officials are actively working to contain and extinguish them, and no structures are currently threatened.”
A small grass fire erupted after the derailment in the surrounding area. Fire crews were deployed to take control of the situation. Authorities confirmed that the scene is continuously monitored.
