US President Donald Trump has asked for an investigation into 3 “sinister incidents” at the United Nations headquarters, terming them a “triple sabotage” during his visit to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

The incidents involving a jammed escalator, a broken teleprompter, and audio problems in the Assembly Hall were brought up by Trump as intentional attempts to disrupt his appearance.

In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump indicated that the UN has to be “ashamed” of itself. “A REAL DISGRACE occurred at the United Nations yesterday not one, not two, but three very sinister things!” he posted.

First Issue: Escalator Stalls During Presidential Visit

The first was when the escalator to the main speaking floor stopped in its tracks with a “screeching halt” soon after he and First Lady Melania Trump boarded it.

“It slipped sideways to a halt. It’s unbelievable that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp points of these steel steps, face first. It was only because we were both holding the handrail tightly, or it would have been a tragedy. This was purely sabotage,” Trump declared, calling for those involved to be arrested.

Teleprompter Issue: Trump 2nd Incident at UN General Assembly

When he started his speech before the 80th UN General Assembly meeting, the teleprompter did not work. “Then, as I was standing in front of a television audience of millions of persons across the globe and dignified leaders in the Hall, my teleprompter didn’t function. It was stone-cold dark. I instantly thought to myself, ‘Wow, first the escalator incident, and now a malfunctioning teleprompter. What kind of a place is this?'” he stated.

Trump gave a 57-minute speech without the teleprompter, which came back online after about 15 minutes.

“The good news is the speech has received tremendous reviews. Perhaps they liked the fact that few individuals could have accomplished what I did,” he added.

Third Issue: Trump Points Out Audio System Failure

The third problem, Trump said, was that the audio system in the UN General Assembly hall was reportedly broken after his address, and world leaders could not hear him unless they were wearing interpreters’ earpieces.

The first individual I saw at the end of the speech was Melania, and she was sitting right in front. I said, ‘How was I?’ And she said, “I couldn’t hear a word you said.” Trump stated.

Trump declared the three incidents were not by chance and referred to them as a “triple sabotage at the UN.” He stated he had written a letter to the UN Secretary-General calling for a prompt investigation and requested that “all security tapes at the escalator should be preserved, in particular the emergency stop button. The Secret Service has been involved.
