Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her upscale Karachi apartment this week, nine months after she passed away. The 32-year-old’s body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition when police and a court-appointed bailiff arrived to execute a court-ordered eviction. The initial postmortem confirmed that her organs were unidentifiable, and her facial features were completely unrecognizable; although the cause of death remains unknown, forensic and toxicology tests are currently being conducted as the investigation continues.

Body Found During Eviction Order

Police found the body while acting on a court order to vacate Humaira’s apartment after a landlord complaint over unpaid rent; officials found her remains lying undisturbed for months. The electricity had been disconnected in October 2024, and neighbors did not report any odor, as the floor was mostly unoccupied..

Post-Mortem Reveals Disturbing Forensic Details

Forensic experts confirmed severe decomposition; organs had turned into a black mass, and muscle tissue had vanished. Also, her bones disintegrated upon touch, and the brain had decomposed through autolysis. The report noted no fractures, but insects, especially brown-colored ones in her hair, were present, though no maggots were found.

Her spine and skull remained intact, but the spinal cord was missing. Investigators believe the findings reflect the environmental conditions in which she died and lay unnoticed for months.

Timeline Points to October 2024

Call records revealed Humaira’s last call was made in October 2024, and the residents last saw her around September or October. Investigators suspect she died between paying her last bills and the electricity cutoff. Officials also found that food had long expired and jars were rusted, confirming the timeline.

Family Distant but Later Claimed Body

Initially, police said the family refused to claim the body, but her brother Naveed Asghar later arrived and took custody, where he revealed that Humaira had moved from Lahore to Karachi seven years ago and had grown distant from the family. “She had not visited us for over a year,” he said, explaining their delayed response. He also questioned the investigation, asking if the landlord had been interviewed.

Humaira Asghar’s Career in TV and Film

Humaira started her career in 2015, acting in TV shows like Just Married, Ehsaan Faramosh, Guru, and Chal Dil Mere. She appeared in films like Jalaibee (2015) and Love Vaccine (2021). In 2022, she gained attention through the reality show Tamasha Ghar on ARY Digital. In 2023, she won a National Woman Leadership Award for Best Emerging Talent.
