The State of Gun Crime in Pakistan

The incidents of reckless firings in Karachi have reignited debate over the city’s persistent gun crime problem. According to reports acquired by ARY News, Pakistan’s gun crime has cost a lot of innocent lives before this Independence Day incident.

According to them, 42 people, including 5 women, lost their lives to firings in January, with the injured count totalling 233.

Additionally, five people also lost their lives while preventing robberies. These incidents took place in different areas of the city and added to the total count of gun violence on top of the people killed in aerial shootings.

According to the authorities, the gun crime in Pakistan can be attributed to disagreements, personal animosities, and resistance to robbery attempts. Other contributors to the rise in the death statistics of Karachi are Road accidents and aerial firing.

This incident has prompted the authorities to call for stricter enforcement of gun laws and more sensible decision-making to prevent such incidents in future.
