Israeli ‘Double-Tap’ Strike on Gaza Hospital Caught on Cam | WATCH

An Israeli double-tap strike hit Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, killing civilians and journalists, including Reuters’ cameraman. Gaza officials confirmed eight deaths, while Reuters reported 15. Disturbing visuals showed destruction, rescue attempts, and injured photojournalist Hatem Khaled.

An Israeli airstrike struck Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza on Monday, which killed several people, including three journalists. The strike is referred to as the ‘double-tap’ on the fourth floor of the hospital. 

Gaza’s health ministry stated that at least eight people have been killed; however, other reports suggest a much higher number. Reuters reported 15 people to be killed, including one of its own camerapersons. Al Jazeera also confirmed that one of their journalist was subjected to the strike and was killed, marking the loss of seven staff members and freelancers in recent weeks.

Videos circulating on social media show the destructive moment when missiles hit the hospital roof. The footage highlights the rescuers trying to work in a damaged section of the hospital before another missile struck, filling the air with smoke. Reports indicate that he target point for the strike was Nasser Medical Complex’s reception.

A ‘double tap strike’ is when missiles are shot back to back at the same target, hitting those responding to the initial destruction.

Nasser Hospital is the largest medical center in southern Gaza. It has faced attacks over and over again during the 22 months of war. The authorities warn of a shortage of supplies, medical staff, equipment, etc., leaving the hospital less effective in treating the injured.
