Two years ago, their love story was torn apart by violence. Now, hostage Avinatan Or and his girlfriend Noa Argamani are finally together again, and the world today saw a reunion that has moved millions across Israel and beyond.
Avinatan Or, 32, was among the last 20 living hostages freed under the truce deal between Israel and Hamas. Soon after his release, he met Argamani, 28, who was rescued by Israeli forces last year.
A photo released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) showed Or tenderly kissing Argamani on the cheek as she smiled brightly. The touching image captured the long-awaited moment of love and relief after years of pain.

The Painful Separation on October 7
Or and Argamani’s story began as one of horror. Footage from the Nova music festival showed Argamani being kidnapped by Hamas militants on an all-terrain vehicle.
As she was dragged away, she cried, “Don’t kill me!” while reaching out to Or, who was being manhandled by terrorists nearby. The look of fear and heartbreak on their faces became one of the most haunting images of October 7.
Former hostage Noa Argamani reunited with her boyfriend, Avinatan Or, after his release from Gaza.

Their separation captured the world’s attention and highlighted the deep human toll of the attack. For two years, their fate remained uncertain until Argamani was rescued in June 2024.
Argamani’s Hope and Prayers
After her rescue, Noa Argamani became a strong voice for the remaining hostages. She campaigned for their safe return and shared her pain openly on social media.
On the second anniversary of Oct. 7, she wrote on X, “October 7 was the last time I saw my partner. In captivity, I asked about Avinatan everywhere I went.”
519 days.
519 days since the last time I saw you.
519 days since the day our roads separated.
I can’t describe the loneliness without you, you are my soulmate and nothing looks same when you are not around.

She added, “I didn’t know if he was kidnapped or murdered, but I was afraid to know the answer.”
Her words reflected the deep uncertainty faced by families of those held captive in Gaza.
Argamani also posted that she was praying for progress in the cease-fire deal, saying she missed her partner “more with each passing day.”
Hostages Return Home Under Peace Deal
The emotional kiss between Or and Argamani was among many heartwarming reunions across Israel. Families hugged their loved ones as 20 living hostages returned home after years of captivity.
According to Israeli officials, the bodies of 28 slain hostages are also expected to be returned in the coming days.
The release is part of the first phase of a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, which also includes the release of Palestinian prisoners.
Future stages of the peace plan, supported by President Trump, include Hamas disarmament, the presence of an international peacekeeping force, and a transitional government involving global leaders.
For now, the image of Avinatan Or and Noa Argamani’s kiss stands as a powerful symbol of survival, hope, and the long-awaited peace that many still dream of.
